Yamaha has extended its popular V-MAX SHO line of high performance four-stroke outboards with the announcement of its all-new V-MAX SHO 90.

The smallest engine in the company’s V-MAX SHO line, the new 90 features a single overhead camshaft driving four valves per cylinder to generate more power from less weight. “The new V-MAX SHO 90 is the perfect power solution for boaters looking to replace an older two-stroke 90-horsepower outboard with the clean, quiet efficiency of a four-stroke,” said Yamaha Marine group president, Ben Speciale. “It’s also a great choice for inshore and multi-species fishing boats.”

The new V-MAX SHO 90 is compatible with Yamaha’s variable trolling RPM switch (VTS) for slow trolling, as well as the company’s Y-COP anti-theft system. The engine can be rigged with Yamaha’s multifunction tiller handle for use on large walleye boats, while a standard 35-amp alternator keeps batteries fully charged.
