A mammoth water ski jump by Canadian Ryan Dodd has been confirmed by the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation’s Tournament Council as a new world record.

Dodd flew an astonishing 254 feet in the jump made on his home lake in Palm Bay, Florida, on July 1st, surpassing the previous record of 250 feet set by American jumper Freddy Krueger in 2014.

“What does it feel like to go over 250 feet? What will I do next? What’s possible? These are a few of the questions I’ve been getting,” said Dodd, “My answer came to me right when I landed that jump, actually. I looked up and said to myself, ‘I can go 260 feet’. Within an hour I was right back in the gym and working on the new dream, the new vision of what is possible.”
