Flippin, Arkansas-based Ranger Boats has introduced a pair of new models for the 2017 model year.
Measuring 18 feet, 8 inches in overall length and rated for outboards to 150 horsepower, the new Ranger Z185 is designed to deliver tournament-ready performance in a package that fits most garages and can be easily managed by smaller tow vehicles. The 96-inch beam is said to provide exceptional stability and plenty of deck space, which features a multitude of lockable storage options.
“The Z185 fits a niche in the market that’s always been very popular,” said Ranger Boats Director of Product Development Lance Newton. “It’s an ideal size for many anglers, and our new Z185 offers a host of features not usually seen on a boat in this price range. It’s really a great fit for an aspiring tournament angler or anyone looking for a fully featured boat that’s easy to own, tow and stow.”
The massive front casting deck features a center rod locker that accepts rods up to eight feet in length and features an integrated tackle storage system. Available in single or dual console configurations, the offset design allows for longer rods to lay cleanly on the front deck and offers a full complement of gauges. The driver’s console also delivers the ability to mount a wide selection of electronics with up to 12-inch screens.
Also new for 2017 is the new Reata 1850MS. Measuring 18 feet, 10 inches in overall length with a 100-inch beam, the new Reata handles outboards to 175 horsepower. A fully redesigned interior, console and dash layout give the boat a fresh, contemporary layout designed to fish well while accommodating a family with seating for six and a large central rod locker that can also handle water skis.
Both the Z185 and the Reata 1850MS should be available this fall.
