Little Mountain, South Carolina-based engine builder Pleasurecraft Marine (PCM) has unveiled a new range of high performance, direct-injection, all-aluminum inboard engines made specifically for the watersports market.
The company’s new Hyperformance engines feature a second-generation Catanium Clean Emission System, a custom-tuned intake manifold, and closed-loop cooling. The entire engine – developed from blocks supplied by GM – is aluminum, including the block, heads, intake, and exhaust systems.
“We are happy to once again raise the bar for standard and high-output inboard watersports engines through the introduction of our new Hyperformance models, the only direct injection engines offered in the inboard market,” said Mark McKinney, PCM Vice President. “Our goal was to design new engines with innovative technology to deliver best-in-class performance and fuel efficiency, while continuing to deliver the outstanding durability available only through PCM. These new Hyperformance engines not only meet, but far exceed our original goal.”
Offered in H5DI and H6DI models, the new engines retain features offered on previous models, including Adjust-A-Flex Mounting; a Fuel Control System with dual fuel pumps; 10 micron fuel filters; and Power Plus Performance ratio transmissions.
PCM, a subsidiary of Correct Craft, designs and manufactures inboard engines specifically for watersports applications.
