Tow boat manufacturer MasterCraft has introduced its first outboard-powered model in 20 years.
The NXT20 Global Edition comes standard with a 175 horsepower Mercury Verado outboard engine, with the option to upgrade to a 225 horsepower model. With available built-in ballast tanks and a custom-built centralized tower, the NXT20 Global Edition is said to be versatile enough for wakeboarding, waterskiing, barefooting or simply tubing with the family in a package with an outboard engine. As its Global Edition name suggests, the new boat is designed with international distribution in mind, and reflects the popularity of outboard power world-wide.
“MasterCraft continues to expand its product line to meet the consumer’s demand for quality construction and reliable performance across all boating categories,” said MasterCraft CEO Terry McNew. “The introduction of the NXT20 Global Edition opens up MasterCraft ownership to boaters in coastal and overseas markets where shallow waters and harsh salt water conditions require an outboard configuration.”
The NXT20 Global Edition rides on a 20-foot hull with a 91-inch beam. Fuel capacity is 45 gallons. Its stylish interior includes a full walk-through windshield, durable, puncture-resistant vinyl seats, premium billet aluminum finishes and comfortable cabin carpeting. The outboard engine allows for expanded aft seating, making for an extremely spacious lounge capable of accommodating up to 12e people while shock-assisted storage compartments have been integrated throughout the entire boat. Outboard power also allows the boat to be easily beached for mid-day picnics.
The NXT20 Global Edition comes standard with a five-year, bow-to-stern warranty and will be manufactured at MasterCraft’s manufacturing facility in Vonore, Tennessee.
