Lowrance HOOk2 Series Unveiled

Lowrance has announced an all-new line of fishfinder/chartplotters aimed at delivering unprecedented ease-of-use and affordability to the freshwater fishing market.

The new Lowrance HOOk2 line replaces the company’s existing Hook series of fishfinders and fishfinder/chartplotters. Available in models with a four-, five-, seven-, nine- or 12-inch display, the majority of Hook2 products are available in either a two-in-one configuration with high CHIRP and DownScan imaging (called SplitShot), or as a three-in-one unit (TripleShot) which adds SideScan capability. Based on capability level and screen size, suggested retail pricing ranges from US$119 to $1,499.

The four-inch model, which now uses a higher resolution horizontal display rather than the vertical screen of its predecessor, will be sold with a broadband Bullet transducer in order to achieve an MSRP of US$99,

The four-inch Hook2 with a Bullet transducer will retail for under $100. Among its upgrades, the new model features a horizontal screen with higher resolution.

The Lowrance HOOk2 product line is designed to be easy to use, with simplified screen menus that use familiar icons and operate much like a cell phone. But underneath, HOOk2 is powered by extremely sophisticated technology including 2X wider sonar coverage with new Lowrance wide-angle Broadband Sounder and CHIRP sonar, plus the company’s SideScan and DownScan Imaging.

Lowrance HOOk2 fishfinder/chartplotters feature full navigational capability and pre-loaded, high-detail mapping with one-foot contours of more than 3,000 US lakes. HOOk2 coastal models will be available with a US/Canada Navionics Nav+ mapping card.

The flagship of the Hook2 line is an all-new 12-inch model with a TripleShot transducer.

Lowrance HOOk2 fishfinder-only models, with the exception of the sonar-only HOOK2 4x Bullet, include a built-in GPS plotter (without charts) for saving waypoints, following trails and navigating to favorite fishing spots.

The company says the new units will be available in-stores by the end of this year.
