New plant to open in 2020
Boston Whaler hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on January 16 to commemorate the start of a major expansion project at its Edgewater, Florida manufacturing facility.
The event began with a welcome reception and opening remarks from Boston Whaler President Nick Stickler. “Today marks the beginning of a new phase in Boston Whaler’s trajectory,” he said. “We look forward to the tremendous opportunities for growth in terms of manufacturing, job creation and product innovation that this expansion will afford us.”
The groundbreaking ceremony kicked off in dramatic fashion when a 30,000-pound front-end loader was driven up onto the hull of a 210 Boston Whaler Dauntless, reenacting a famous stunt to demonstrate the strength of the boat’s construction.
The new facility is expected to be completed in 2020.
