Barletta Corsa 25UCA Review

Barletta Boats is a comparatively new name in the pontoon boat market, but the company is already raising eyebrows with innovative models like its all-new Barletta Corsa 25UCA.

There’s a lot to like about the Corsa, starting with its inspired, modern look and innovative design details. This is not your father’s pontoon boat, and especially if you add a third log and a performance package. But before we get too far ahead, let’s step aboard and have a look at what the big Barletta has to offer.

The Corsa features a contemporary design emphasized by its big stern swim platform, spacious lounge seat with unobstructed views and stylish Bimini top.

When you first walk up to the Barletta Corsa 25UCA, it’s hard to not appreciate its fresh, contemporary design, with elegant fencing that drops to deck level in line with the massive transom lounger, revealing an open and expansive astern swim platform. This boat’s emphasis on fun on the water is clearly evident by the huge swim platform, the substantial boarding ladder, and the sturdy ski tow which includes a flag holder. Aft-facing speakers in the base of the aft-facing lounger allow swimmers and boarders to keep up with the game or enjoy the music.

The stern UltraLounge seat provides three-wide seating, facing forward, facing aft, or both at the same time.

That big stern UltraLounge seat deserves special mention for its vast size and exceptional versatility. The back rest adjusts, so the seat can be set up for S comfy three-wide forward-facing seating, or flipped to provide aft-facing seating with an unobstructed view. The UltraLounge will also lay fully flat to create a truly spacious stern sun pad. You can even set it as three-wide back-to-back seating facing forward and aft at the same time.

When you’re ready to come aboard there’s a stylish stainless steel gate on the starboard side that leads into the cockpit. Overhead, a stylish forward-leaning arch provides support for an equally graceful Bimini top, providing an escape from the heat of the mid-day sun.

Seating for the Captain and navigator comes in the form of a luxurious high-back bucket seat with fold-down arm rests.

The Captain and navigator get to ride in super-comfortable high-back Captain’s chairs, each with fold-down arm rests. Both are mounted on swiveling bases, so they can be easily turned to face the stern UltraLounge. The passenger seat is served by a neat consolette with two “Yeti-ready” drink holders, a big mesh compartment for small items like sunscreen or bug spray, and a tablet holder, which sits conveniently just above a USB charging port. Barletta know that mobile devices always need charging, so the Barletta Corsa 25UCA comes ready to serve.

The neatly designed helm console provides a pair of smart multi-gauges right up top presenting all the critical engine data where it’s easily seen. A vertical row of push-button switches flank each side of the beefy chrome-on-black sport steering wheel, providing convenient control for lights and other electrical accessories, while freeing space to the right of the main cluster for an electronics stack. The typical arrangement has a flush-mounted, seven-inch Simrad multi-function display mounted up top, with a Hertz stereo below it, but a variety of electronics and audio upgrades allow owners to personalize things as they prefer.

The helm is simple yet elegant, with the electronics arranged in a stack to the right of the sport steering wheel.

The Barletta Corsa 25UCA comes in a choice of twin-tube or tri-tube configurations, with three-tube boats getting a substantial in-floor storage locker that’s accessed through a hatch just beside the console.

Comfy loungers in the bow also feature a fold-down arm rest, and storage space in the base.

Up front in the bow, the Corsa offers a pair of plush lounge seats that are the idea spot to stretch out in comfort, especially if you fold down the retractable arm rest. There’s a mountain of storage space for gear under the seat cushions. A pop-up change room that extends out of the port-side lounger is available as an optional upgrade, as is a filler cushion that places in front of the bow entry gate to convert the space to full wrap-around seating.

Barletta provides USB ports to keep electronics charged in each of the bow seats, along with drink holders and a stereo speaker featuring a dazzling grille.

Each of the bow loungers includes a recess along the fencing, which accommodates a couple of drink holders, yet another USB charging spot, and a stereo speaker which, in our review boat, featured a dazzling metal grill replete with the Barletta logo.

Rated to handle outboards of up to 150 horsepower in a twin-tube configuration and up to 350 horsepower as a tri-toon, the Barletta Corsa 25UCA performs every bit as energetically as it looks, guaranteeing big smiles, good times and endless shouts of “faster daddy!” from the kids. Families in search of a versatile and enjoyable ride will find a lot to like about the Corsa 25UCA.
