Magma has a grill to suit most every boat on the water
Marine grills have become a must have on boats that are out on day trips or longer, as there is nothing quite like catching your own fish and cooking it on board. But there are a number of considerations that need to be taken into account before choosing a boat grill. One of the most renowned manufacturers is Magma, a company founded by Californian sailor twins Jim and Jerry Mashburn, who created their products after experiments with attaching grills to their boat proved unsuccessful. It didn’t take long until the first Magma boat grills to hit the market.
The Mashburn brothers pioneered the use of polished stainless steel as the ideal metal to use thanks to its durability and non-rust properties, a must when in a marine environment. The original Magma boat grill introduced over 30 years ago used charcoal, but now propane gas is regarded as the best fuel as there is no danger of hot ashes spilling out onto the deck. Although the original Magma charcoal boat grill is still available.
Magma boat grills come in a variety of sizes and prices. The best models can be easily mounted for stability and they have domes and lids for more energy efficiency and better control of the cooking temperature, and they are also easy to operate and clean. It is recommended that you have a locking cover to prevent the grill from accidentally opening in rough weather.
