Mercury Marine has unveiled a new range of V6 four-stroke outboards at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show.

The new engines include updated 175, 200 and 225 horsepower four-stroke outboards plus a 200-horsepower SeaPro commercial model. All are built on Mercury’s new 3.4L V6 platform, which is designed to be powerful, light, compact and fuel-efficient, and feature a new, aggressive styling.

“This new platform will position Mercury to advance product leadership in the 175 to225 horsepower outboard category, and deliver across the board on consumer needs,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president. “These new outboards address applications across recreational and commercial applications, strengthen our core product lineup by building off the success of our recent programs and delivering on the requirements of our global customers.”

The new engine range is available with black or white cowlings, and a variety of colored accent panels.

The 3.4L V6 engines come with the option of mechanical or digital controls, hydraulic or power steering, and black or white cowls, as well as a variety of accent panel colors. A top cowl service door provides easy oil check and fill (if needed) without removing the cowl, making routine maintenance easier than ever before, while Mercury’s Adaptive Speed Control maintains RPM regardless of load or condition changes, improving the driving experience.

Mercury also introduced a new 150 Pro XS model, said to offer the lightest weight (at 456 pounds), largest displacement (at 3.0L) and quickest acceleration in its class. Targeting bass boats and large multi-species fishing rigs, the engine includes a massive 60-amp alternator to keep batteries charged, and lower noise and vibration than the engine it replaces.
