Fort Pierce, Florida-based Pursuit Boats is investing $2.1 million to construct a new building at the company’s manufacturing plant in order to accommodate growing orders for its fiberglass offshore fishing boats.

According to a company press release, construction has already began on a new 14,000 square-foot building scheduled for completion in August, in time for production of the 2018 model year boats. The new space will allow Pursuit to increase production volume by 50 percent, and will add an expected 30 new jobs.

“We’re excited about the expansion and what the growth means for our company,” said Pursuit president, Bruce Thompson. “A lot of hard work and planning has gone into making this a reality. The new building will give us the capability to continue to grow our portfolio while also increasing the efficiency of our manufacturing processes.”

“Our market share and retail sales have shown consistent growth over the past several years, solid indicators that our product mix, features and benefits match market demands and high-end customer expectations,” added George Hetzel, Pursuit’s vice president of sales. “It is no accident that our manufacturing  facilities need to expand; it is the result of great business acumen under the current Pursuit leadership and family.”
