Evinrude introduced a number of new engines and accessories this past weekend at the kick-off to its 2017 dealer meeting in Milwaukee.

Boat builders and Evinrude outboard dealers from around the world were on hand to witness the grand reveal of all-new new 150, 150 H.O., 175 and 200 horsepower models in its E-TEC G2 outboard series.

“Our Evinrude E-TEC G2 technology is now the benchmark for outboard engines,” said Alain Villemure, vice-president and general manager of BRP’s Marine Propulsion Systems division. “By expanding this award-winning product line to lower horsepower models, even more consumers can benefit from the industry-leading performance of Evinrude E-TEC G2. From bass to pontoon, center console to aluminum fishing, freshwater to saltwater, the revolution is here.”

Said to deliver up to 30% more torque, up to 15% greater fuel efficiency, and up to 75% fewer total regulated emissions compared to competing four-strokes, the new engines are already in production, with deliveries expected to make their way into dealer showrooms this fall, beginning with the 150 horsepower models. The new engines are available in all current G2 colours, including new Ice Blue, and Mossy Oak camouflage finishes.

Along with the new G2 engines, Evinrude unveiled a companion line of Icon II digital controls, which include an integrated digital-to-analog converter for use with analog gauges.

Outside of the new G2 models, Evinrude also unveiled a new 60 horsepower E-TEC H.O. model in 20-inch and 25-inch shaft lengths. Built using the same three-cylinder block used in the company’s 75 to 90 horsepower engines, the new 60 H.O. is intended for high-thrust  applications, including aluminum fishing and pontoon boats, as well as saltwater bay and flats boats.

Also new for 2017 is the all-new E-Link virtual dashboard, which enables the display and direct control of important engine features like RPM, fuel flow, trim position, oil level, fuel levels, battery voltage and water depth on a smartphone or tablet.
