On Thursday Chris-Craft will hold a special press conference at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to unveil its all-new Calypso 26, the first model in a new range of dual console models for the Sarasota, Florida-based company.
According to the company, the Calypso 26 was “designed for the family who enjoys fishing, watersports or cruising.” Designed for family use, the Calypso 26 will be provided with a wide range of standard features including a curved walk-through windshield with a cockpit wind door, LED courtesy lights, enclosed head (with sink, faucet, Porta-potti and interior light), in-floor rod/ski storage, recessed electric trim tabs with indicator lights, and flexible fold-up seating in the cockpit that allows owners to tailor the boat to their specific needs.
Built on a 26-foot, six-inch fiberglass deep-V hull with a wide, flared bow, self-bailing cockpit, transom door and stainless steel fixtures, the Calypso 26 is intended for either freshwater or salt water use. Its 154-gallon fuel capacity should give it the range to roam far offshore in search of big fish, while carrying up to seven people. Standard power will be twin 200 horsepower four-stroke outboards, with twin 150s or a single 350 from Mercury of Yamaha also available.
Also appearing in the Chris Crafty display at this year’s Fort Lauderdale show will be its Launch 36 with triple outboards and a hard top, along with the Launch 28, Launch 25, Carina 21, Catalina 26, Catalina 29, and Catalina 34.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will be held at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina and the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center from November 5 to 9 inclusive.
