Sea-Doo has raised the stakes in the personal watercraft market with a pair of new 300 hp models introduced at its national dealer meeting held this week in Nashville, Tennessee.

With more than 2,300 BRP dealers from 65 countries in attendance, the company’s 2016 Sea-Doo RXT-X two-seat and RXP-X single-seat models are equipped with the company’s new 300 hp Rotax 1630 ACE engine. While they share the same deep-V hull design, the slightly longer and wider RXT-X is said to provide a more stable and predictable ride than its race-inspired sibling.

Apart from unveiling new models, the company also announced that all 2016 Sea-Doos will now come equipped with the new second-generation iBR (intelligent Brake & Reverse) system. New colors and finishes, including three new colors for the Sea-Doo SPARK, will also debut with the 2016 model year.

“The combination of the increased power and efficiency of the Rotax 1630 ACE engine, the confidence provided by the advanced ergonomics of the Ergolock system and the control and peace of mind that come with the intuitive iBR system will bring the rider experience to the next level,” said Anne Belec, BRP’s senior vice president of Global Brand and Strategy.

BRP introduces the new 300-hp Rotax 1630 ACE engine, adds the Ergolock seat to all RXT and GTX models and many models receiving a redesign of the storage area providing up to three times the overall storage volume.

Belec said the 2016 model year dealer event was one of its largest in the company’s history. “Our dealers are looking for products that will appeal to consumers by their design and technologies as well as their comfort, durability and performance,” she said. “This event demonstrates the strength of our distribution network, its enthusiasm for our new products and commitment to our brands.”
